Diseño Malbec, 2006
Malbec is perfectly suited to the Central region of Mendoza. It grows
well in the loose, sandy soil. Mountain rivers flow from glaciers in the
high Andes and enrich the soil with old mineral deposits. The warm sun at
high elevations is balanced by cool nights to create distinct acidity.
Our source vineyards sit within the Central region of Mendoza, in the two
most interesting and sought-after areas. The prime zone sites enjoy
fertile soil rich with old mineral deposits. The Uco Valley sites are
high elevation with good sun, even ripening and distinct acidity. Both
areas nestle at the base of the Andes foothills, climbing to 4900 feet at
the highest point. Our partners are highly regarded, combining great
respect for tradition with their free-thinking pursuit for quality.
Diseño Malbec 2006 has deep purple color with crimson luster. The bouquet
of lilac and cherry blossom unfolds to a hint of tobacco. The explosive
flavors of earthy blueberry and rich chocolate are fleshy yet robust with
well balanced acidity - quintessential Malbec from Mendoza.
